Lauren partnered with internationally recognized artist, Barbara Kasten, to realize designs for numerous site-specific installations. To aid in the fabrication and installation of the artist’s designs, Lauren developed technical manuals to provide to both the fabrication teams and the museum installation teams. Lauren also managed the coordination of the artwork fabrication, the museum/gallery installation, as well as the shipping of the artwork. Only selected manual segments are shown.

Manual: Inside Out*

Lauren closely collaborated with the artist on the creation of technical manuals for a commissioned sculpture entitled, Inside Out. The sculpture was a part of a solo exhibition for the artist at the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg. Due to the travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 outbreak, all fabrication and installation coordination, as well as material and structural testing, was conducted virtually.

Manual: Elevation*

Lauren closely collaborated with the artist to create technical manuals for a commissioned installation entitled, Elevation. The site specific installation was developed for the Aspen Art Museum and was installed at the entryway to the artist’s solo exhibition. The artwork was designed to both reference and engage with the architecture, specifically the woven facade. Due to the travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 outbreak, all fabrication and installation coordination, as well as material and structural testing, was conducted virtually.

Manual: Crossover (Aspen)*

Lauren closely collaborated with the artist to create fabrication and technical manuals for Crossover (Aspen). The site specific installation was developed as part of the artist’s solo exhibition at the Aspen Art Museum. Due to the travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 outbreak, all fabrication and installation coordination, as well as material and structural testing, was conducted virtually. For the exhibition, Lauren also designed floor plan graphics— used in wayfinding and marketing collateral—and worked with the artist to develop bespoke protective face masks.

Manual: Corners (Aspen)*

Lauren closely collaborated with the artist to create fabrication and technical manuals for Corners (Aspen). The site specific installation was developed as part of the artist’s solo exhibition at the Aspen Art Museum and was designed specifically for the alcove that was situated on the exterior-facing periphery of the exhibition space.
