In a highly collaborative process, Lauren partnered with executive leadership, market leaders, and technical staff to prepare competitive qualification material to best communicate LJC’s value, approach, and expertise in order to secure new business. Due to the unique nature of each pursuit, Lauren’s direct contributions varied from project to project and even phase to phase. In the selected examples, Lauren led the creative and narrative direction of, and served as the sole designer for, the content shown.

Photography (Firm Culture, Events & Select Projects)*
Photography / Styling / Narrative Development

Reverberation is the annual design publication for LJC. To capture the firm culture, collaborative atmosphere, and design vision Lauren visited LJC’s offices as well as select project sites. Levering her background in both photography and editorial design, Lauren composed each image to maximize flexibility and positive and negative space, allowing text and graphics to be added alongside, or on top of, the images. This approach increases efficiency during post-production and allows images to be seamlessly incorporated into the publication design.

Photoshoot Art Direction
Art Direction / Styling / Narrative Development

In collaboration with the architectural project managers of each project, Lauren helped lead the overall vision, composition, and styling of numerous photoshoots. Managing teams of photographers, photo assistants, and models, Lauren ensured that the design and overall intent of the project was not just documented, but celebrated.

Bespoke Proposals*
Creative Direction / Narrative Development / Data Visualization / Copywriting & Editing / Value Proposition / Binding & Printing

For select projects, Lauren partnered with an in-house graphic designer to develop bespoke proposals and marketing collateral that closely aligned with project aspirations and aesthetics, creating graphic styles and details that functioned as extensions of both LJC’s and the client’s brands. Lauren led the creative direction and oversaw the narrative development of these projects and partnered with market leaders and technical staff to best position the proposed team.

Storyboarding for Bespoke Proposals
Creative Direction / Narrative Development

When her capacity was limited, Lauren partnered with an in-house graphic designer to develop the framework of bespoke proposals. In these instances, Lauren would outline the overall requirements and priorities of the pursuit in order to storyboard the organization and progression of the material needed. This storyboard would be shared with the designer along with visual/stylistic references to guide the design of a template. Lauren would then work with the designer to finalize a proposal template that she could then use to populate with project specific content.
